fileschanged software package provides command-line utility that reports when files have been altered, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install fileschanged
fileschanged is installed in your system.
Make ensure the fileschanged package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep fileschanged *
You will get with fileschanged package name, version, architecture and description in a table
